Two Weddings and a Funeral

Things are never dull around Jubilee, but the last few weeks have been particularly full. Numerous comings and goings in our hospitality and volunteer program have kept us busy with goodbye events and orientation for new arrivals. We have also been pouring extra care into the kids as they are home from school this summer, in particular putting on a week-long vacation bible school.

A sad occupation for us was accompanying a local Karenni family through the loss of their son as a result of suicide. His funeral and burial were at Jubilee. We invite you to pray along with us about ways we can encourage and uphold the youth in our local community, some of whom are struggling.

In the midst of that continuing sadness we hosted two joy-filled Karen weddings on our property. The first wedding in a chestnut grove and the other near our little chapel at the pond. Both weddings were profound gatherings of a wide range of people representing many different communities. The blessing of coming together in Jesus’ name was palpable.
