Celebrating Summer

Summer has arrived, and the community is bursting with Life! The trees have begun producing
their fruits. The flowers have started blossoming. Our animal friends have returned from their
migrations and hibernations. And the most joyous of all the noticeable changes that come along
with summertime – the children are out of school and with us throughout the day. Their smiling
faces and excitement brighten the community. The songbirds can’t compete in beauty with the
kids’ laughter and excitement.

• June 10th will begin blueberry picking season. Last year, the Lord provided us with an
abundance, and we hope and pray for another fruitful season. It is always a joy to
share with our neighbors and friends.
• A new member is joining Robbie and Al on our prison team. Novice, Joshua, is excited
to begin corresponding with prisoners. He felt inspired to contribute after attending
an event sponsored by Georgians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty.
• The local youth soccer league has concluded, but not to worry! We have witnessed
our youth benefit from the teamwork and collaboration associated with organized
sports. The result? We’ve moved the goals a little closer to shorten the field,
purchased new nets for the goals, and begun a weekly soccer game after potlucks
on Friday evenings.

As we continue striving to live by the Lord’s will, we remind ourselves of his words to us:
Matthew 19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
